Description
A dead centre (one that does not turn freely, i.e., dead) used to support the workpiece at either the fixed or rotating end of the machine. When used in the fixed position, dead centres produces friction between the workpiece and centre, due to the rotation of the workpiece.
Dead centers are great for setting up work and for use in situations where a live center will not fit. Even though the tip is carbide and will not gall like HSS, carbide must be lubricated during turning operations or it will burn
- Made of Carbon Steel, Hardened & Ground
- Moreover , Also called full dead centers.
- The carbide tips , brazed into the socket with a close tolerance for maximum strength.
